Dog’s freedom has come under doubt
to run around and play about.
Upon the beach they sometimes growl,
but never steal your watch or towel.
They sometimes bark and sometimes fight,
but very rarely do they bite,
and if you scorn a big Alsatian
you won't get sued for defamation.
They dig some holes and maybe poo,
but don't break glass like humans do.
The tide comes in and leaves no trace,
Just garbage from the human race.
Cans and bottles everywhere,
some plastic bags for birds to snare
don’t blame the dogs for this condition,
just peoples thoughtless disposition.
Sometimes dog antics can annoy
Jumping, sniffing, filled with joy,
But mankind's presence always lurks,
It's run off from the sewerage works.
Politicians make nice speeches
about the dogs that run on beaches
but think a moment do they care?
With mans destruction everywhere.
Our dogs are facing sure defeat,
The Council catchers on the beat.
Let's leave them somewhere they can roam,
for dogs don't lie or rob your home.
So spare a thought for mans best friend,
their freedom surely should not end.
Dog lovers of the world unite.
Humans should be half as bright.
